Setting up a domain contractor structure can feel complicated. In this article I will explain how to set this up in Pestscan in a very easy way.
This is a structure to set up a customer portal with access to multiple customers. A customer with multiple locations can manage their locations within the portal without setting up this structure.
How to set up a domain contractor
Step 1: Creating the customers
Create all customers you will need in the domain contractor structure. In this example I have created three customers: Walkers HQ (the domain contractor), Walkers Carlisle and Walkers Cardiff. These customers do not have any specific settings yet.
Step 2: Setting up the structure
To set up the structure we will edit one of the subcompanies. In this screenshot I have gone to edit Walkers Carlisle. At the bottom of the Address edit page you'll see the option to set a domain contractor. Here you can set de domain contractor of your choice. In this example we will set Walkers HQ as the domain contractor. Don't forget to save your settings. Do the same for all subcompanies.
Step 3: Checking the customer portal
To make sure you have successfully set the domain constructor we will check Walkers HQ. You will notice there is no information on what sublocations they manage in the settings pages. To check the settings we'll have to go to the customer portal of Walkers HQ. There we see we can choose other customers to manage.
It is possible to make a nested structure with multiple domain contractors.
